|Purchase a pattern for a slip to wear under a bridal gown. Cut the slip pattern out, and put it in a place where it will be safe from damage.
Choose the fabric you will use for the bridal slip. Fabrics that work well include cotton, silk, nylon or a light linen.Check the pattern to see how much fabric is needed. Get a bit extra fabric over what the pattern suggests in case of sewing accidents. Ask the salesperson at the fabric store to measure and cut the fabric.
Cut out the fabric according to the directions on the pattern. Turn the fabric for the garment inside out to prepare to sew the brown bridesmaid dress seams. Pin the front and back pieces together with straight pins. Place one side of the fabric on the sewing brown bridesmaid dress
Start to sew the two pieces of fabric together. Sew slowly and carefully. When the seam has been completely sewn, then carefully remove the straight pins. Repeat the sewing process for the seam on the other side of the slip. When done sewing, remove all straight pins. Make a hem at the top of the slip by folding over the fabric and using pins to secure it. Then drop a strip of elastic through the hem to make a stretch waistband to the slip. Sew the top hem so it encloses the elastic, and then remove all straight pins.
Use straight pins to create a hem at the bottom of the slip. Sew the hem on the sewing machine and then carefully remove all straight pins.If desired, add decorative black bridesmaids dresses items to the hem of the slip, such as a small fabric shamrock for good luck, or a monogram of the initials of the bride and groom. Then turn the slip right side out, and hang from a hanger to let the slip's fabric settle into shape before you iron black bridesmaids dresses
